It is with deep sadness that the National Child Support Engagement Association (NCSEA) announces the passing of former Executive Director, Ann Marie Ruskin. Ann Marie’s journey with NCSEA began in September 2010, leading to a career filled with professional satisfaction, cherished friendships, and a deep appreciation for the child support community.
She dedicated herself to NCSEA, directing professional development programs and introducing initiatives like NCSEA U and the Leadership Symposium. Her passion for policy and government relations helped promote legislation to improve the IV-D program, positively impacting families. Her tenure was also marked by other significant contributions, including the establishment of the Corporate Partner program and the implementation of free webinars for members.
After a brief hiatus, Ann Marie returned to NCSEA as Executive Director in 2018, leading with passion and commitment. She led the organization with dedication, breaking attendance records, achieving strong financial performance, and navigating the challenges of the pandemic.
Her colleagues remember her as a gracious and empowering leader, always ready with a kind word and a warm hug. Ann Marie’s ability to inspire and support those around her was unparalleled, and her impact on the child support community was profound. As such, Ann Marie was awarded an honorary lifetime membership by the NCSEA Board of Directors in 2023.
Her contributions to the child support community and her commitment to helping children and families will be remembered fondly. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the positive changes she championed. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with her.
